POWER UPGRADE ENCHANCEMENTS

All people who have towed with a Land Rover are aware that there is a genuine need for more power and torque. At Famous Four we offer engine performance upgrades by reprogramming your existing ECU with our sophisticated autologic diagnostic software equipment. This means that all original vehicle parts are left in place, no wiring modifications are carried out, and no bolt-on, or plug-in 'chips' are necessary.

Following reprogramming, improved throttle response and better low rev pulling power are achieved, which in turn means that you will make less gear changes and be able to maintain more constant speeds even on hills. Our testing has proved that a small improvement in fuel consumption may also be expected.

Increases of between 23 and 47 BHP (Land Rover TD5 Defender has a max. 123 BHP in standard trim increasing to 170 BHP with the Famous Four Power Upgrade) are evident, and torque improvements of upto 85 nm are achieved ( Range Rover TD6 produces 418 nm of torque @ 1800 rpm, increasing to 493 nm at the same rpm with the Famous Four Power Upgrade).

Famous Four Power Upgrades can be carried through our workshop whilst you wait. The fitting price for most vehicles is GBP350 VAT, although this may vary depending on the age and model of your car.

Pre-2002 model year (up to and including '1A' VIN Numbers) Defender and Discovery vehicles may require a replacement ECU unit to allow upgrades - this can be provided and fitted, at extra cost.

Performance Air Filters

Performance Filters Are Available in Three Types:

	ELEMENT - fits in existing air box in place of O. E. paper filter
	CLAMP-ON - fits directly to the airflow meter or carburettor(s) and replaces the O. E. airbox
	57i PERFORMANCE KIT - contains a Clamp-on filter and the fittings to fix it in the engine bay.
